Looking for a way to fill empty seats at your Restaurant / Cafe?
Wi-Fi is fast becoming as expected as air conditioning in the hospitality industry. The reason it’s so popular among Restaurant / Cafe owners is that it allows you to fill those vacant seats when you need it most… during off-peak hours. You see, wireless customers tend to visit when it’s quiet… so that they can get their work done.
Our free wi-fi hotspot software puts you in the wi-fi hotspot business within just 30 minutes. All you need is an “always on” broadband connection and a compatible wireless router, preferably the Linksys WRT54GL which you can pick up online for under $100 US.
Once you’ve upgraded the WRT’s native firmware to DD-WRT (a free download) and configured it with our server information (with the help of our Fast Start Guide), simply plug it into broadband and “voila!”, your wi-fi hotspot is online and ready to begin accepting customers.
Note - If you're located in Canada or the U.S., we can sell you a preconfigured (with DD-WRT firmware) WRT54GL. Simply plug it in to broadband and your location is online, simple as that!
Our free wi-fi hotspot software supports both of today’s most popular business models… paid or free wi-fi access.
The paid business model:
Most of today’s wi-fi providers prefer the paid model whereas customers gain access either by purchasing airtime through the login screen (if they have a credit card) or through a staff member (if they have to pay cash or debit).
Our free wi-fi hotspot software allows you to set your own rates which means that you can stay on the cutting edge of profit for your area. We collect the customer’s payment via our payment processor (PayPal) and forward you your share (75%) after the 15th of the following month. We make that payment either (a) via PayPal (if you have an account) or (b) by check (if you don’t).
For those customers who don’t have a credit card, you will likely want to be able to sell them prepaid access codes by cash or debit as an alternative. Our free wi-fi hotspot software allows you to do just that. You can purchase prepaid codes from us at “wholesale price A” and resell them to your cash / debit customers for “retail price B”.
The free business model:
Another popular business model among wi-fi providers today is the free business model. It works because everyone loves “free” and you can profitably provide free access with a set minimum purchase (whatever amount works for you). Unlike most of the other free wi-fi providers (who are using a home wireless router at their place of business), you’ll have the ability to set time limits to prevent customers from overstaying their welcome – thus ensuring a reasonable rate of customer / table turn-over.
The benefits of becoming a wi-fi provider:
> Drive new customers into your location with free advertising. The way most customers will find you is through the free online wi-fi hotspot directories like Ji-Wire (you can list your wi-fi hotspots for free on most of these directories). When’s the last time anyone offered you free Restaurant advertising? You may also want to consider placing a poster on your window or better yet, a banner on the outside of your building to advertise your location to passers-by.
> Add an automated revenue stream. Talk about easy money! You and your staff can sit back and relax or focus on other tasks while the service provisions (takes care of) itself.
> Increase guest frequency (loyalty). In addition to being as addictive as coffee (according to independent studies), you can draw wi-fi customers back into your location by sending them news and special offers via email.
The trick here is… you can add what is called an “opt-in link” to the login page (which is customizable like Facebook) and collect your customer’s email addresses by making an offer such as “Opt-in to receive news and special offers via email!”. That’s it. Now you can directly target and communicate with your very best prospects for future business… you past customers. Hello?
One more thing about the login page… because it’s customizable, wouldn’t it be a great idea to advertise your food specials on it? Great way to move excess food inventory!
So what’s stopping you from becoming a “powered by 82nd Street Wireless” wi-fi provider?
> Technical ability – Although that with the help of our Fast Start Guide, you should be up and running in as little as 30 minutes, if you prefer (and if you’re located in Canada or the US), we can sell you a preconfigured Linksys WRT54GL wireless router. All you have to do is plug it into broadband and your location is online… simple as that!
As far as customers are concerned… getting online will be the same process they would use with their home wireless router with one exception… when they open their web browser they will be automatically redirected to the login page which prompts them for their username and password. They can either purchase that username / password directly via the login page (with a credit card) or through your staff.
Because you set your own rates (and because we operate globally) we are not able to provide technical support to your customers due to (a) the cost of long-distance communications and (b) language barriers. The good news is that once again, most of your customers will have home wireless networks which operate almost identically to your network. Access related problems should be fairly uncommon.
> ROI (return on investment) concerns – The easiest way to calculate your ROI is to determine approximately how much money those vacant tables could be earning if they were occupied and compare that figure to the monthly investment for a broadband connection in your area. If you’re open 12 hours per day and you’re busy for maybe ½ that time… that means your tables are empty about 50% of the time. If you managed to fill just 25% of those tables with wireless guests, you would in effect increase your monthly / annual income by 25%.
Another way to look at it is to divide the monthly investment for a broadband connection by the number of days you’re open in a given month. In most cases you’re talking about a few dollars per day. How many wireless guests would you need on a daily basis to cover the investment? Less than one per day? Of course if you already have a broadband connection, this is a moot point.
So to summarize…
> Getting set-up on our hosted wi-fi hotspot software is free.
> We do not charge you a monthly fee.
> We pay you 75% of the credit card revenues out of your location.
> Our wholesale prepaid codes (for cash or debit customers) are so cheap… you can throw them in for free with a minimum purchase or sell them for retail prices.
> Offering wi-fi at your location allows you to bring in new customers with free advertising while adding a fully automated revenue stream.
> By capturing your customer’s email address with a strong opt-in offer, you will be in charge of wireless guest frequency (loyalty) by routinely sending them news and special offers as an incentive to revisit (compounded with the already highly addictive nature of wi-fi).
So what are you waiting for? Many of your competitors are probably already offering wi-fi. Whether you’re one of the first or one of the last in your area to become a wi-fi provider may very well determine your ultimate share of this fast growing market. The early bird gets the ________?
